Abstract Tesim:
Current studies regarding bioelectric stimulation and cell regeneration after heart attack are still ongoing; however, we have developed a reflectance pulse oximeter capable of deep tissue sensing with the help of microneedles that serve as waveguides for light. If the electrical stimulation experiments show promise, this can yield a much cheaper alternative to stem cell usage. Moreover, the deep tissue sensing device can measure blood oxygen saturation for this application and also for complex procedures like flap surgeries. Also, the microneedles that served as a waveguide for this application may be a potential drug delivery method of the future. Our findings may result in cheaper, less invasive, and more effective health care interventions that can hopefully save lives one day.
