Abstract
  • The other day I saw this guy. He was walking his dog. He held the leash in one hand, and in the other he carried a landscape painting. He was walking the landscape. I still haven't gotten over it. [We carry the landscape with us. The landscape is embedded within us. We are materially of the landscape. We are material expressions of the landscape. We are triggered by images of the landscape. There is no landscape. "Landscape" is a term that lays bare the illusory nature of human perception. Both we and the landscape are expressions of the same impulse. As a whole we constitute a mutual unfolding. However, the flaw in that construction is that there is no "we" and thus no mutuality. Mutuality suggests a condition of not-one.]
