- Abstract
- This study will evaluate U.S. occupation policy to generate a set of basic principles that seem to correlate to success in military occupations. While this set of principles is not exhaustive, they will generate a better understanding of the nature of military occupation and the forms of policy that are vital to its success. The evaluation of policy at the heart of this work will focus on one of the more important occupations in world history: the U.S. military occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1952.
