Abstract
  • In this paper, I explore three interrelated questions about media, messaging and the movements for and against marriage equality and LGBT rights: 1. How has the relationship between activists and mass media changed since the rise of new media? 2. If activists interact with new media in addition to mass media, how do they differentiate tactics? 3. How do activists develop strategies for new and mass media?
