Abstract
  • Hansi Hoskins. A Server-Side User Study of UNC-Chapel Hill's 19th-Century American Sheet Music Collection Database. A Master's paper for the M.S. in L.S. degree. April, 2010. 32 pages. Advisor: Diane Kelly This study describes a server-side user study of UNC-Chapel Hill's 19th-Century American Sheet Music Collection Database. The study was based on the transaction logs of the database and was conducted to learn about the search pathways, and habits of the users of the database. The information collected from the transaction logs included IP addresses, time-stamps, URLs, and referrers. This data provided information about the amount of time users spend actively searching the database, the how users are querying the database, the results they are receiving from their query, and the documents they chose from the results page.
