- Abstract
- The feasability of using a portable laser Raman spectrometer in the field of industrial hygiene as a tool for the evaluation of environmental contaminants in an occupational setting was completed. It was determined that three primary criteria must be met prior to development of a portable laser Raman system. These conditions consist of technical criteria, need criteria and resource criteria. The technical criteria was demonstrated, and it was determined that pending demonstration of need and resource commitment, a portable laser Raman spectrometer could be developed for use in the field of industrial hygiene.
