Abstract
  • In this project, human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumor tissue samples and corresponding adjacent non-tumor tissue samples were analyzed for the presence of two proteins. These two proteins were chosen for investigation since they showed the greatest potential for being accurate biomarkers for HCC based on (1) computer-aided analysis of a publicly available protein database and (2) based on additional evidence from a previous publication implicating these proteins in biochemical pathways that are disrupted in HCC.
