Abstract
  • The Office of Student Counseling offers academic and personal support to African American and Native American students attending a university in the southeastern United States. The primary objective is to promote academic excellence, increase retention, and improve the campus climate for diversity. The office currently uses a Microsoft Access database to track students' academic progress. The goal of this project was to replace the existing system with a Microsoft Access database linked from an Oracle 9i platform. The Oracle database was created in an earlier project. This project involved designing a user interface and conducting usability testing with the current end users.
